When Kisses Aren't Enough

We have a very sweet boy. He's almost always in a good mood, laughing, smiling, peeing, pooping, you know...the things little boys do. For the most part, we can help him calm down out of a tantrum fairly quickly.

Then it happened...

You know how you can tell when a storm is coming? You get the familiar ache in your knee or you hear the distant thunder rolling in the distance. Yeah, that's kind of what it felt like at our place last week. We knew something was up with Baby, but we had no idea what. So, we tried kisses from Mommy...
That obviously didn't work. So what did Mommy do? She handed him off to Daddy.

Wowzers. Not a happy baby. At this point, Chris and I were ready for a nice full glass of hard liquor. Seriously. If you've ever heard a baby scream, and I mean that high pitched, nails down a chalk board scream, you've wanted a stiff drink as well. We settled on a bottle of wine. And no, not just a glass, the whole bottle.

After a full day of Baby not feelin' it, and now starting to show signs of a nasty little cold, I strapped him into his carseat and we headed off to the doctor. Turns out he not only had a cold, but a double ear infection to go along with it. They sent us home with a nebulizer and some strong antibiotics. Poor Bubby.

I'll keep you posted on how he's doing. At least the screaming has stopped...for now...
